Zojirushi’s SX-DA series are designed with vacuum insulation technology to preserve its contents’ temperature while also ensuring that the exterior of the tumbler remains cool to the touch, even with piping hot beverages and condensation free when filled with ice-cold drinks, making its use practical and enjoyable.

The vacuum insulation technology keeps the temperature of the beverage at a constant for hours by completely removing the air from in between the two layers of stainless steel that make up the walls of the tumbler. By doing so, a vacuum is created disabling any heat from travelling through air thus creating an advanced way of preserving heat. To strengthen this retention of temperatures, the insulated products feature a layer of copper or aluminum which help reflect the heat. The insulation of the body of product is aided by an airtight, insulated lid. The heat retention achieved through this technique helps keep the hot beverages still hot (rather than lukewarm) and cold beverages cool (rather than room temperature) for hours after filling when compared with products using either foam or double wall insulation.

The advanced method used for the interior of the tumbler the brand’s proprietary SlickSteel® polish – a method that uses electrolysis polishing of the 18/8 stainless steel inside rather than coating, which is used with some of the other vacuum insulated models, which in turn makes the inner surface of the model highly durable against corrosion and stains. Like its non-stick coating counterpart, the SlickSteel® surface is easy to clean.
